JAN SMAGA is an installation artist, sculpter and photographer who was born in Warsaw in 1974.

He works with photography and combines classical techniques with computer editing, constructing three-dimensional photographic objects (don't miss his projects "Plan", 2003 and "YMCA", 2005 in collaboration with ANETA GRZESZYKOWSKA).

SMAGA subjects the human body to detailed analysis of the surface. He is fascinated with the illusionist power of photography, the way in which it interprets the third dimension, and the question of how deep one can look down through the even surface of a photograph.
