RIYAS KOMU was born in Kerala, India where he compleated his BFA and MFA from Sir JJ school of art in Mumbai.

He is part of this project: Tihar jail in Delhi hosted 36 contemporary indian artists to work in the jail as part of an initiative to use art as a way to stimulate young inmates. The art work produced by the artists during the project will be donated and featured in an exhibition at the Indira gandhi center for art (Delhi) from 12 august to 2 september.
