Daniel Canogar

Enredos (2008). a series of photographic prints that illustrate how technologies create complex emotional connections that simultaneously bring us together and imprison us.

Circadian rhythms (2009). a video featuring the life cycle of an imaginary system projected on 5000 defunct light bulbs.

Palimpsesto (2008). a video projector casts pinpoints of light on a screen formed by 3400 dead light bulbs, seemingly causing the bulbs to light up again.

Using a multi-projections system interconnect by fibre-optic cables, DANIEL CANOGAR creates installations that submerge the viewer. We can walk, past, around and even though the, distorting, morphing and abstracting the imagery.

I generally build a small model and create a narrative by imagining how people will walk through the show, what they are goind to see first, what they are going to see second, how it will build up. I almost think of it as a film: the work becomes a film, a narrative. by DANIEL CANOGAR
